The famous foodie, whose third cookbook debuts April 12, gave a sweet shout-out to her friends’ children, many of them celebrity offspring, at the beginning of the book. Simply stated by their first names only, the list lends itself to some pretty good guesses as to who Paltrow is referring.
“For Sascha, Julian and Shepard,” reads one line (most likely longtime friends’ Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld‘s three kids). Also on the list: Matthew and John Owen (Rob Lowe and Sheryl Berkoff’s boys); Ford and Logan, the sons of Ryan Murphy (the producing partner of Paltrow’s boyfriend Brad Falchuk) and his husband David Miller; Kate and Sparrow (Nicole Richie and Joel Madden‘s children); Olive and Frankie (Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman’s daughters) and Beyoncé and Jay Z‘s daughter Blue.
And, of course, the Goop founder’s own children made the cut: “Apple and Moses this book is for you,” she wrote. For those names who are yet to come, Paltrow also made a dedication. “And for the ones who are yet a twinkle in their parents’ eye or a bun in the oven,” she wrote.
The family-focused book, which includes beautiful photos of Paltrow and her kids, as well more than 125 of the star’s favorite recipes, is aimed at busy parents. “When I sat down to start this book, I had been polling my friends and colleagues on what sort of cookbook they were looking for,” Paltrow wrote in the book’s introduction.
“These friends all seemed to have a common culinary yearning: They wanted a collection of recipes that they could prepare easily. They wanted to find themselves in the kitchen at the end of their overextended day and be able to prepare something delicious and quick.”
